Help with automobile insurance?

Depends on the state.
But its going to be high to get insurance on your own. You might be able to have your parents on your insurance to bring down the price a bit. Being young is a risk factor in insurance, and youll be qualified as a youthful driver either until youre married or youre 25 (depending on the state), when rates will go down. There are things that you can do to bring things down. First of all, drive a safe vehicle, and probably an older one. If you have an older car and just want liability insurance on it (you cover other people if you get in an accident) without the additional comprehensive (hit a deer, parked car gets hit, etc) and collision (accidents), youll save money, because comp & collision is expensive. If you have to have comp & collision (newer car, car is worth fixing if in accident, have a loan on the vehicle), you can put a higher deductible (the amount you would pay if your car is in an accident) to lower the cost of the premium. And then there are discounts. Because you have no tickets on your record, you can most likely qualify for some type of safe driver discount. Once youre going to school, you can get a good driver discount (usually you need a GPA of 3.0 or higher for this), and some companies might give you a defensive driver discount if you take additional driving courses. Make sure to ask any agent who is giving you a quote about discounts, and get quotes from a few different places (keep the quotes and details they give you) so you can shop around. Have the agents explain all of the different coverages and what everything on the policy means.
For a sedan, you might be looking at $100 a month because youre so young. For a motorcycle, you might not be able to get coverage without already having an auto policy in the household (this can be helped by being in your parents household on insurance), but if you can get motorcycle insurance, it is noticably cheaper than a car to insure, I usually see yearly premiums under $200. Motorcycle insurance is really different compared to auto, though.

There are many sites where you can get online auto insurance estimates quotes. What you need to do is get quotes from the leading insurance companies and compare them.

Each company will give you a different rates based on your personal record and vehicle details. They will check what is your driving record, tickets, marital status, age, credit score, etc. But they will also check your vehicle detail such as mileage, make year, model, type of car, use of car, safety devices and so on.

There are cars that are considered to be more risky than others and thus pay higher rates. Sports are are considered a high risk thus they are expensive to insure. But if you buy a cheap family car you will pay lower rates.

Your estimates also depend on how much you use your car a year, if you drive more than 15,000 miles you will pay more than if you just use your car 5,000 miles a year.

Keep in mind that young people under 25 pay much more higher rates than older people, due to the risk factor that they represent and inexperience. ALthough there are ways to get discounts and thus affordable rates.

Shop around compare quotes from different companies and choose the one that gives you the best coverage, with the best customer service and affordable price.

Im just 18 years old female with not car accidents or speeding tickets. I have a part time job and and going to start classes at a local community college soon. How much do you think auto insurance would be for a motorcyle and a small sedan.

I know i can get free auto insurance quotes but i want to know what are peoples estimates, so i can guess how much it will be per monht. I just need an educated guess.

R:

Unfortunately for young people car insurance is expensive because statistically they drive more reckless and cause more accidents. So it is a good idea to be included in your parents insurance policy to bring down the costs.

But there are a few things that you can do to reduce your rates

drive safely, dont have claims or speeding tickets.

If you are driving an older car and you choose liability with not comprehensive coverage you will save money, because collision and comprehensive is expensive.

You can put a higher deductible to reduce your premium costs.

You can have a discount if you have to tickets on your record. ALso if you are a good student and you have 3.0 gpa you can get a good discount.

Take a defensive driving course to get an additional discount.

Make sure that you ask for you insurance agent for any possible additional discounts that you could get. SHop around and compare quotes from each company.

Due to your young age, a sedan may cost you $100 a month to insure. And for a motorcycle you may not be able to get coverage without having an auto policy in your house hold.

But if you can get motorcyle insurance, i have seen yearly premiums of $200 it is cheaper to insure than a car.

Automobile Insurance Estimate Questions

Whats the estimated Auto Insurance Payment on a 2007 Toyota Yaris Sedan New?

Call your insurance company or some other company and get a correct quote, I have also heard that in some states the insurance goes up on elderly people.

On an insurance claim that I am partially at fault, is it better to turn in all of the estimates & med bills?

Always turn everything in. Why?

1. If you have medical payment (usually called MedPay) on your auto insurance policy – it doesnt matter who is at fault. That is a first party coverage you are entitled to (if you pay for it).

2. When it comes to a BODILY INJURY claim….Depending on the negligence jurisdiction of the state you are in…..and the percentage of fault you are assessed – you may or may not be able to claim any of your expenses.

What you are not able to claim…or have covered under your medpay coverage (if applicable) you can THEN present under your health care coverage.

IF you are entitled to some coverage anywhere else (Medpay or BI) your health care carrier will be entitled to RECOVERY from the at fault carrier. If you dont tell them and they find out (by reading your medical notes) – they will send you a recovery (or subrogation) letter to get the information on the at fault carrier.

Now – if you submitted everything like I said above – you will have documentation from the insurance companies about what is and is not covered. You can provide that information to your health care carrier. If youve EXHAUSTED coverage available under the MedPay (subject to specific limits) and/or BI coverage – your health carrier will become primary and have to pay the differences.

BTW – there are no deductibles for Med Pay coverage.

Hope your injuries werent significant.

For most people automobile insurance estimates can be mystifiying, they dont know how the insurance company calculates their rates and why their friends get a better rate while both have similar cars.

Insurance companies know what they are doing, their estimates are based on many factors that determine the risk of a car. When you buy an auto insurance policy, you are asking the company to take some of the risk and pay them for it, so they need to weight the risk properly to make a quote that is worth for them to take the risk.

Some of the most obvious things that determine the risk is your driving record.

are you a safe driver? do you have tickets? have you had fault accidents? So so companies take in to considerations not just the accidents that you were at fault but the ones that were not your fault.

Another important factors is your age, young drivers are considered to be high risk, because they do not have enough experience driving and because statistically they cause more accident. Also very old drivers are more likely to have higher rates of accidents.

Also insurers need to weight the risk of the car model getting damaged and passengers getting injured. If you do not wear seat belt you will pay a higher rate becaue you have more risk of getting injured.

If your automobile has air bags and strong protections against accidents then you will pay lower rates.

Another important factor is your location, where you live affects your rates, if you live in a neighborhood where there is a lot of vandailsm and theft then you are more likely to pay higher rates.

If you live in a zone where there is a lot of traffic or there is a high rate of accidents they your premium will increase. On the other hand if you live outside of a city where there is not much traffic, you will pay less.

And also the type of coverage that you want influece your rates, if you want full coverage you will pay more. I you want full coverage and you have a brand new mustang covertible then you will pay more. They look at the car model and see what is the record of that type of car.

By taking a look at the different factors that affect your insurance policy rates you can lower your rates, there are many factors that you can control and others that you dont.
